Every photograph here shows actual anti-wrinkle before and after results done at Opulent Aesthetics by Sadie.
We use the same lighting and camera for every shot, and we record the sessions, intervals, and time elapsed. We don’t retouch, filter, or reshape anything.
If you’ve looked online for before and after photos, you’ve probably been disappointed.
Results rarely depict what it’s like days after treatment, until it settles. This page does the opposite.
We show what the first few days can look like, alongside the settled results here, so you can see whether anti-wrinkle injections suit you.

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a small dose of a purified protein, administered by an aesthetic practitioner into a target area.
The protein relaxes the muscles under your skin, softening the lines above them.
How the treatment works
The muscles above your brows and around your eyes pull the skin every time you frown, smile or squint.
Over years, that movement etches expression lines into the same places.
For anti-wrinkle treatments, the aesthetician injects a small dose of muscle relaxant into the target muscle to reduce how strongly it can contract.
The line above settles and softens over the following weeks, making it more difficult for new lines to form.

Anti-Wrinkle Before and After Gallery

We shot all images in our Caterham room. We tried to capture each image under similar conditions: same lighting, camera, and angles.
In the caption, we tell you the dosage we used and the time passed between the treatment and the ‘after’ shot.
What Happens in the First Two Weeks
Anti-wrinkle injections take effect gradually. You’ll see wrinkle reduction around day 3 to 5, with the full effect settling in by day 14.
Days one to three
Small pink marks may appear on the injection sites within the first hour. You may also experience some bruising.
Avoid lying flat, rubbing the area, or heavy exercise for the first four hours. Otherwise, you can go about your day as usual.
Days three to seven
You’ll see the first signs of change on days 3 to 7. The muscle starts feeling less mobile before you observe it in the mirror.
During this time, you may catch yourself making expressions and seeing it less pronounced. This is the treatment working.
Days ten to fourteen
By days 10 to 14, the change has settled. This is when you can appreciate the full effect of the anti-wrinkle treatment.
Your face looks the same as before, but the lines you get when you frown, squint, or raise your brows are softer than they were.
What Changes, by Area
Forehead lines
Horizontal forehead lines sit across your upper face and are among the first lines you’ll notice softening. We place a small dose across the frontalis muscle to reduce how strongly it lifts your brows.
Frown lines
Vertical frown lines between your brows also visibly soften. The muscles here are strong, so a small dose across two or three points works well.
Crow’s feet and the eye area
Crow’s feet are lines that fan out around the outer corner of each eye. They appear when you smile and leave a faint imprint at rest.
A small dose placed at the outer edge of the eye softens those fine lines when you smile.
What a Realistic Result Looks Like
When a professional aesthetician like Sadie does your treatment, expect results to be subtle but noticeable.
We soften your lines while keeping your natural movement, so you still look like yourself. Think of it as a gentle refresh rather than a total reset.
Movement you keep
Good results soften the lines you dislike while highlighting your natural features.
You should still be able to convey surprise, warmth, and irritation without looking stiff. The treatment softens expression lines.
What anti-wrinkle treatments will not do
Deeply etched facial lines, such as forehead creases, won’t fade fully with anti-wrinkle injections alone. The line itself is already set, so the treatment can only soften the muscle.
If you want to improve skin quality, skin boosters can help by hydrating the skin. If you need to restore volume in the cheeks, lips, or under-eye area, filler is the better option.
If you want to stimulate collagen production, try microneedling for an overall skin refresh.
How Long Results Last
Anti-wrinkle injection results typically last 3 to 4 months.
Most clients rebook within that window first, then find they can stretch to longer intervals as their muscles learn to hold a softer position over time.
What makes results last longer?
Each person has different conditions that affect results. These results depend on various factors such as:
- Your metabolism
- Baseline muscle strength
- How expressive your face is
- Which area of the face was treated
- How often you use the muscle on a normal day
- The dosage of anti-wrinkle injections used
- How often you’ve had treatment
- Time since last appointment
- Sun exposure and general skin habits between appointments
- Medical conditions or medication affecting recovery
It’s safe to book a follow-up appointment three or four months after the treatment so Sadie can check.
Anti-Wrinkle or Filler?
Anti-wrinkle injections and filler do different jobs. One reduces the movement that makes a line appear, while the other adds volume where the tissue has thinned.
When a line needs volume instead
If a line remains visible at rest and doesn’t change with expression, it is usually caused by volume loss. Dermal filler treatments are more suitable here, as they replace the support your tissue has lost.
Some lines (especially around the mouth) may look like they need anti-wrinkle treatment but are actually caused by deflating, sagging cheeks. In this case, facial fillers lift the tissue back up, smoothing out the lower face.
We will determine which treatment you need during your consultation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is anti-wrinkle treatment the same thing people call by a brand name?
Yes. Several licensed manufacturers supply the protein used in anti-wrinkle treatment.
However, UK advertising rules prevent clinics from using brand names publicly, so we use the neutral term “anti-wrinkle treatment” to refer to these injections.
When will I see a difference?
You will see the first changes around three to seven days after your anti-wrinkle treatment. You’ll see the settled result between days 10 and 14.
How long do results last?
Results from anti-wrinkle injections typically last 3 to 4 months. Most clients rebook during that window at first, then longer intervals after a few courses.
What does ten years of regular treatment look like?
Regular treatments keep expression lines softer by resting the muscles over time. Your skin will continue to age naturally, but the anti-wrinkle treatment slows it down.
Do you age faster after stopping?
No. Once the treatment wears off, you continue aging at your normal rate. It can feel faster because you are comparing how your face looked while treated, not where it would have been.
Is 40 too late to start?
Not at all. Many of Sadie’s clients book their first anti-wrinkle treatment in their 50s, 60s, and beyond.
Older skin often benefits from a combined approach – pairing muscle-relaxant injections with skin-quality treatments or fillers to address volume loss alongside movement lines.
